Your part in Buderim Private Hospital team
As Supervisor Patient Administration you will provide leadership to the admissions, reception, switchboard, sessional suites and emergency centre customer service teams. This is to ensure patient’s, VMPs, visitors and other customers receive effective, efficient and timely administrative services while meeting all relevant business needs, private health insurance legislation and regulation, Medicare Australia and UCH Policy and Procedures.
You will:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities; including giving guidance and direction to staff within the team, training, developing and upskilling them as a team of a skilled staff resources,
- Roster team fairly and effectively
- Oversee and provide leadership and guidance to all administration staff
- Recruitment & onboarding of staff as required
- Ensure your team culture is built around providing quality service assistance
- Maintain principles related to confidentiality, rights, privacy and dignity of patients and colleagues and work-related information
- Demonstrate an ability to recognize changing situations, which may influence productivity and liaise with Administration Manager to ensure minimal loss of efficiency and effectiveness of service.
- Participate in quality activities and education programs which ensure that the service standards are maintained and improved upon, including completion of core competency and staff training hours
What makes a difference for us?
- Relevant qualifications in business or related field or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Experience in Health Care or previous Hospital/Medical Patient Administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in written communication
- Adaptability to changing priorities, with the ability to provide an exceptional, tailor-made service to your customers
- Knowledge of Medicare/HIC/DVA/ Third Party and Workcover billing and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of Medico Legal responsibilities for the provision of records to patients and third parties
- Advanced skills in the use of computerised accounting and information systems, with knowledge of GENIE/Gentu and advantage
- Previous administrative coordination experience is highly desirable
