Description
Reporting to the Manager of Peace Ranch & Recovery Residences the Supervisor of Peace Ranch & Recovery Residences is responsible for providing supervision and mentorship to staff in a program that is located in Caledon East, Mississauga & Brampton. The individual will be responsible for task delegation, scheduling, supporting disciplinary action, and/or direction to staff as they develop plans that aid in the recovery and stabilization of our clients. The individual will also ensure support is received to de-escalate and stabilize any crisis, and to ensure that staff connect clients with services and supports that address their health and wellbeing over the longer term. Duties and Responsibilities:  * Overseeing the assessment and intake process of potential tenants while providing case management expertise and support to the staff * Developing and fostering a unionized staff team which effectively functions to meet the program goals * Managing employee performance and performing necessary administrative duties such as vacation planning, timekeeping, and performance reviews within the context of the collective agreement * Implementing and maintaining a system for collecting relevant statistics needed for evaluations, reports, and funding proposals * Prioritizing and assigning shift responsibilities and duties to team members * Facilitating case conference meetings for clients with complex needs operating from a housing first, trauma informed, hard reductionist approach * Ensure staff adhere to policies, procedures, and/or the collective agreement * Assist in program planning, program monitoring, achievement of service targets, and development of the annual work plan/program goals  * Maintain a conducive environment to allow for psychological stabilization in a person centered program that operates 24/7 * Provide direction to develop individual person centered service plans addressing the immediate short term needs, along with clinical and psychosocial supports * Provide monthly supervision to front-line staff  * Liaise with community support and partners * Act as the On-Call responder for other 24/7 programs * Demonstrate a strong quality care and service delivery based on SHIP’s Vision, Mission and Values * Ensure appropriate records are kept and make sure that statistical information is maintained as per agency standards * Adhere to agency Health & Safety Program and the Client Safety Framework in the promotion of client safety * Complete administrative tasks as assigned which may include purchasing, invoicing and fund reconciliation.  * Perform additional duties as required/delegated  Qualifications: * Post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Services, Health Services, or equivalent * 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity * 3+ years’ experience working in residential & rural environments * Knowledge and experience within a unionized environment * Knowledge of mental health and addictions/justice support services * Individual and group counselling skills * Excellent assessment, risk management, and consultation skills * Knowledge of psychiatric symptomology and psychiatric medication as well as suicide assessment and intervention * Knowledge and commitment to the values of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery oriented practices * Proven experience with the mental health population while collaborating with partners and other community resources * Excellent time management, communication, people management, etc. * Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment * A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) * Valid Certification in First Aid & CPR * Training in ASIST and CPI Reporting Function: The Supervisor of Peace Ranch & Recovery Residences will report directly to the Manager of Peace Ranch & Recovery Residences. They will be responsible for overseeing Peace Ranch & Recovery Residences and will have the authority to work with both internal and external partners and will interact with all levels within the organization. They will manage day-to-day operation of staff and have decision-making influence to hire/fire and manage accordingly. They will be a support system, resource, and an advocator for the team and Company.
