Position Summary: To lead the Indirect Purchasing operations through effective team supervision and tactical management, ensuring operational excellence, business continuity, and compliance with established procedures and policies. The role aims to optimize the purchasing processes for the Indirect category spends, drive team performance, and deliver business value through efficient resource management and stakeholder collaboration. This position drives innovation and continuous improvement by developing and implementing creative solutions to enhance purchasing practices and operational efficiency. The role exists to enhance operational standards, ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services, and achieve key business metrics while developing and motivating team members to reach their full potential in supporting organizational objectives. Job Responsibilities: Supports strategic and operational initiatives (e.g., State-of-the-Business updates and business unit strategies) by translating them into clear team tasks and activities Leads goal roll-down processes by setting quarterly and annual objectives aligned with business and functional priorities Participates in operational budgeting and cost-management activities to support efficiency and cost-saving initiatives Ensures Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met and performance targets are achieved Submits regular performance reports, dashboards, and KPIs to track results against SLAs and operational targets Escalates operational issues, provides recommendations to customers, and supports direct reports in resolving escalations Collaborates with internal counterparts and points of contact to identify process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities Ensures timely and appropriate recruitment to fill vacancies and maintain business continuity Conducts workforce planning and staffing projections based on workload, volume forecasts, and business growth Reviews and documents changes in roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and workload to support accurate headcount, scope, and capacity planning Monitors employee schedules to ensure proper shift coverage and optimal resource utilization Plans, assigns, and directs work in coordination with management to balance workload and deliver projects effectively Evaluates employee performance through regular performance discussions, appraisals, and goal-setting reviews in line with company policies Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance individual and team performance and encourage participation in decision-making Identifies employee capabilities, improvement areas, and functional or behavioral training and development needs Develops, implements, and monitors Individual Development Plans (IDPs), ensuring effective application of learning on the job Plans, organizes, and coordinates team activities to promote employee engagement, collaboration, and team camaraderie Ensures compliance with people-related policies and guidelines, including regularization, performance reviews, rewards and recognition, ethics, and code of conduct Implements and enforces policies related to timekeeping, attendance, and documentation, and carries out disciplinary actions in accordance with due process Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in any 4-year course preferably Engineering/Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Business related discipline Two (2) years operational management, process improvements, or other roles that focus on development and implementation of controls and procedures. Minimum of 7 years’ procurement and or/ business management experience Fluent and Conversant both in written and verbal English Strong knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes and systems High level of proficiency in technology and systems, including Oracle, MS Office, Power BI, and analytics tools and applications Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills Demonstrated critical and analytical thinking capabilities Proven structured problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex business challenges Ability to participate in a team environment Ability to maintain a positive working relationship Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
