Requirements The production supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. PRIMARY RESONSIBLITIES - Understanding of production schedules - Understand daily production requirements and effectively communicate to the direct reports. - Organize the workflow, set daily goals, and ensure team members understand the expectations. - Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all team members. - Lead and develop hourly team members. - Confirm all equipment is functioning properly and in a way Team Members can safely and efficiently operate it. - Conduct team member training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, on an ongoing basis. - Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions; assist in troubleshooting any machine slowdowns or other problems. - Analyze machine performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement establish goals, and execute strategy improve lean manufacturing principles. - Ability to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Coach and mentor in various ways to positively impact different styles of learners. - Be a servant-minded style leader by serving our Team Members and providing them with all the tools and coaching they need to safely and efficiently perform their job. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Production Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of project management software and manufacturing software.
