We empower our people to turn their ideas into solutions, execute with integrity, deliver with quality, and take pride in their work. In turn, we foster a culture built on our values that supports everyone to be their best.

WHO WE NEED

We are looking for a QA Supervisor to join our team for a 6-month Contract; someone who strives for better solutions, better quality, and better adoption of control processes. You will make an impact by looking for opportunities to improve processes, production speed, people, and audit scores. You will continuously seek out ways to enhance the quality performance of the site, the team, and the work culture.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead. You will manage the work of 10 direct reports, plan and oversee the hourly production shifts, provide training and skills development, and conduct performance reviews. You will supervise the sanitation crew, create work assignments, and verify performance. You will initiate and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF code.
  • Ensure quality operations. You will conduct daily GMP audits and follow up; execute traceability exercises; and update quality SOPs. You will verify documentation of day to day operations is complete and compliant. You will support and lead third party audits and inspections, customer-quality visits, internal quality audits. You will conduct QC Organoleptic analysis and approvals.
  • Investigate. You will follow up on issues of non-compliance and product defects. You will lead the investigation and resolution of low-medium quality incidents, product holds, customer and consumer complaints.
  • Apply best practices. You will draw on insights, the latest research, benchmarking, audit results, and feedback from staff to improve process performance through continuous improvement efforts in quality systems, food safety, and specification compliance.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • The experience. You have 4+ years of experience in a food, beverage, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment combined with a degree or diploma in Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, you may have earned your science knowledge in microbiology and chemistry through 7+ years of direct experience with on-the-job training in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. You have a thorough understanding of a GFSI certification program (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000), and have experience creating and maintaining a HACCP based food safety system. You have experience with laboratory analytical equipment and operation.
  • The knowledge. You have a full understanding of GMP’s (Good manufacturing practices), Product Safety & Security. You also have an understanding of overseeing a quality management system and food safety audits. You have experience in the use of Statistical Process Control applications and managing a HACCP-based food system. Additionally, you have a working knowledge of the laboratory analytical equipment function and its subsequent operation.
  • The ownership. You have a food safety and continuous improvement mindset and approach challenges as problems to be solved, not issues to be passed on. You can independently own and meet your deliverables as a collaborative team leader, inspiring high performance, quality, and efficiency. You take cost-control, safety, and quality incredibly seriously and can manage conflict, mentor individuals, coordinate schedules, and identify gaps in skills or resources.
  • The interpersonal skills. You are empathetic with exceptional levels of patience and can convey a sense of urgency. You have outstanding communication skills and can work closely with the production floor, operations, and engineering teams. You have the confidence to say no, to stop production, and to defend your choices based on logic, science, and insights. You can influence without authority and work in partnership with leaders across teams and at the executive level.
