JOB DUTIES      Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Radiology Scheduling department and supervision of staff.    Controls and verifies demographic information accuracy entered by the schedulers into the computer system; verifies that copies of all patients' insurance records/prescription are made and placed into file; verifies that notification is sent to insurance companies and prior authorization is on file.    Leads and directs the work of the Radiology scheduling representatives. Provides technical instructions and training of personnel in techniques, computer system usage, and organization of work.    Coordinates staffing needs; schedules and maintains adequate coverage and effective utilization of the department personnel. Covers all staffing gaps as needed.    Confirms that all insurance benefits coverage meets standards of admission as dictated by the hospital policy.     Recognizes and resolves scheduling errors/discrepancies or problems within 24-48 hours from the original scheduling time to ensure accuracy of all data entries, and notifies appropriate personnel as needed.     Verify insurance information within 24-48 hours for all previously entered "Self-Pay" patients' status.     Resolves patient/family/physician dissatisfaction by investigating concerns and providing corrective actions. Recommends changes in service, policies and procedures, if needed, to improve the department performance and productivity.       EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:      H.S. Diploma, college degree in related field preferred.        Must have Radiology Scheduling experience
