Description

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is looking for a Railcar Rates and Routes Supervisor. The Rates and Routes First Line Supervisor’s primary objective is to provide the oversight of the team that creates and manages accurate freight rates and routings related to rail shipments, while also identifying savings opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics or other related and/or equivalent work experience
  • Five + years’ experience required in Logistics (rail management/marketing, or rail procurement is highly preferred)
  • 3 years people management experience
  • Proficient in technical writing, good communication skills- attention to detail is critical, especially around cost control and efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with decision making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • TMS system knowledge (SAP, Borque Logistics, etc) is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workload and ensure daily tasks are being accomplished
  • Escalate issues to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Prepare and provide reporting and metrics that demonstrate service levels and areas to improve
  • Understand rates and routings in order to identify and resolve issues
  • Identify, implement and track savings opportunities
  • Ensure accurate routings, interchanges, and weight restrictions are tracked
  • Develop a process and ensure routine reviews of rate database are completed
  • Goal-driven and continuous improvement mindset
  • Communicate and present information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reading and Understanding contract verbiage
