POSITION SUMMARY: SUPERVISOR

We are seeking an experienced and passionate RECE and/or Montessori Directress with leadership capabilities to join our team as a School Supervisor. The ideal candidate will hold Montessori training from AMI or a MACTE-accredited institution, and have a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare centre with 50+ children.
This individual will ensure all programs meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), and uphold the high standards of care Kinderbrook Montessori is known for.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Montessori training (AMI or MACTE-accredited) required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor in a licensed childcare setting with 50+ enrollment
  • Experience with both Montessori and play-based curriculum is preferred
  • Classroom teaching experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the CCEYA and related regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); marketing and social media skills are an asset
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification
  • Police Check + Vulnerable Sector Screening (within the last 6 months)
  • 2-Step TB Test and other Medical required
  • Food Handling Certificate is an asset
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, dedication, and commitment to high-quality programming

    Note: Must be available to work during Summer Camp and adjust schedule as required due to emergencies or operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the Ministry of Education, CCEYA, and municipal regulations
  • Oversee daily operations of the centre including licensing compliance, staffing, and curriculum delivery
  • Collaborate with educators to implement Montessori and play-based programs
  • Manage enrollment, promotions, and advertising initiatives
  • Schedule and supervise staff, maintain records, and organize staff meetings
  • Plan and execute daily activities and special events aligned with our philosophy
  • Build and maintain strong communication with parents and the broader community
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, medication, and child observations
  • Remain informed on food allergies and restrictions in the centre
  • Participate in administrative responsibilities and professional committees
  • Support staff through feedback, evaluations, and professional development
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff
  • Ensure the centre maintains cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere
