Description

Job Purpose: Plans, develops and administers the hospital security and loss prevention programs which provide for the management of asset protection, personnel protection, emergency preparedness, hazardous communications, parking and traffic control.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Class C Driver’s License is required. Non-Commissioned Security License is required or may be obtained within 30 days from date of hire. BLS certification required or may be obtained within 30 days. Texas Department of Public Safety requirement of Manager’s exam through DPS.
Work Experience: Previous security, Law Enforcement, military, or Safety experience required. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience preferred.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine patrols of the Hospital property.
  • Enforces hospital policies regarding security, safety, and wellbeing of patients, staff, and guests.
  • Monitors activity on property to prevent unauthorized access or trespassing.
  • Responds to calls for assistance and addresses issues of concern to ensure safety and security of property, patients, staff, and guests.
  • Properly uses and maintains vehicle keys, equipment, and work areas.
  • Demonstrates diligence in documenting work activity by utilizing departmental forms and reports.
  • Oversees staffing schedules, PTO requests, Time Maintenance, and Officers compliance with education and licensing requirements.
  • Responsible for Performance Improvement Data.
  • Responsible for compliance with the Private Security Administration rules of the State of Texas.
  • Attends all meetings and trainings as required
  • Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job-related hazards.
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
  • Wears proper identification while on duty.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
