JOB SUMMARY:
The Supervisor, Seniors Services is responsible for the effective administration, leadership, and advancement of senior service programs and the delivery of client-centered services. Responsibilities include program assessment, review, strategy, and implementation.
The Supervisor, Seniors Services, will also be responsible for effective resource allocation and budget management, providing leadership and supervision to the team, and for managing the daily operations of the Senior Services department. This position oversees a variety of programs supporting seniors’ independence, social connectivity, and community engagement with a focus on excellent service provision.
· Providing support, leadership, direction, and supervision to staff in the Seniors Services Programs.
· Supervising and supporting a team of program coordinators, volunteers, and peer facilitators.
· Overseeing the planning and delivery of senior-focused programs.
· Participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities to meet the needs of seniors in the community.
· Reporting program statistics and performance to the agency, funders, and required partner groups.
· Identifying opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures, utilizing feedback from clients, program coordinators and community partners.
· Implementing quality assurance indicators and strategies to monitor program outcomes and impacts.
· Collaborating with internal partners to increase access to services (e.g. elder abuse, affordable housing for seniors, self-neglect, transportation, loneliness and isolation).
· Developing and maintaining partnerships with local organizations (e.g., Fraser Health, Abbotsford Healthy Aging).
· Developing engagements with healthcare and other seniors serving organizations.
· Advising on topics such as ageism, elder abuse, and neglect.
· Overseeing budget management, and compliance to contracts and agreements ensuring fiscal accountability.
· Managing and updating program budgets efficiently, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds to meet funder requirements.
· Monitoring Income and Financial Statements and General Ledgers on an ongoing basis ensuring program performance is consistent with budgeted expectations, taking corrective actions where necessary.
· Writing grants and funding proposals for local, provincial, and federal government, as well as for various programs that fall under the role’s larger scope.
· Ensuring culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices are embedded in all services.
