About the role

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Supervisor to lead our Specimen Collection team. The role is ideal for a confident leader who can bring people together, build a cohesive and accountable team, and get the best out of others while ensuring the delivery of a high-quality patient and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop a professional and cohesive Specimen Collection team.
  • Set clear expectations, promote accountability and help staff perform at their best.
  • Coordinate daily operations, rostering, leave coverage and service requirements.
  • Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Support staff training, induction, competency assessment and professional development.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care, customer service, quality, safety and compliance.
  • Respond professionally to client queries and contribute to ongoing service improvement.

About you

  1. Demonstrated experience leading or supervising teams, with strong people and performance management capability.
  2. Ability to motivate, coach and support staff to build confidence, capability and performance.
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to create a team environment built on trust, respect and accountability.
  4. Sound phlebotomy skills with a thorough understanding of specimen collection services.
  5. A strong commitment to patient care, customer experience and professional service delivery.
  6. Excellent organisation, problem-solving and time management skills.
  7. Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, quality and compliance requirements.
  8. A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
  9. Nurse Unit Manager experience would be well regarded
