Supervisors contribute to making Toys R Us a store where people want to be: a fun place to discover, imagine, grow, and play.

Supervisors support our Culture Framework and is responsible for working with team members on customer engagement, selling skills and product knowledge. This role supports the Management team in developing strategies to drive sales in their areas of responsibility, address in-stock issues and to achieve store targets. The Supervisor executes initiatives that drive sales and margin while supporting the delivery of positive, lasting experiences for our customers.
The Supervisor position requires full availability including nights and weekends. A Supervisor may be transferred within different areas of the store.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years retail management experience, including customer engagement and in-store merchandising; knowledge of Toy and Baby products an asset
  • Personal characteristics should include high energy, active listener, high integrity, sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Strong customer engagement and relationship building skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Organizational, time and priority management skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities
  • Ensure sales results, goals and individual responsibilities are communicated to team members; hold team members accountable to achieve individual and team objectives
  • Supervise daily sales activity, Philanthropy and Baby Registry results and provide appropriate feedback, direction and follow up to ensure execution
  • Role model a customer-first mindset. Use daily insight and feedback to improve performance and use MAGIC to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Supervise and support all Order Management System (OMS) functions in an efficient and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction, including In-Store Pickup (ISPU).
  • Participates in the successful execution of well-designed in-store, corporate, and community events to build brand awareness and foster an environment of fun and play
  • Conduct effective coaching conversations with team members, including Performance Check Ins, to ensure performance expectations are met
  • Ensure that the floor is stocked and merchandised to company standards
  • Ensure Store is prepared for all flyers and promotions
  • Role model 100% compliance to all Health and Safety, Human Resources and Loss Prevention regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Hold team members accountable for compliance to all company policies and procedures
  • Analyze reporting to identify sales growth opportunities
  • Support store management in the delivery of ongoing training and follow up as required
  • Support the recruitment of team members as needed, including pre-screens and interviews
  • Review and update the breakroom Communication Board
  • Open and close the store following established procedures including the opening and closing checklist
  • Undertake all other relevant duties as required to ensure the store runs smoothly, efficiently and to expected standard in all areas (including acting as Manager on Duty)
