Description
Key Responsibilities: 1. Operational Supervision: - Supervise daily VTMS operations and ensure continuous 24/7 monitoring of vessel traffic. - Coordinate vessel movements and provide navigational assistance to ensure safe arrivals, departures, and transits. - Monitor radar, AIS, and communication systems to maintain full situational awareness. 2. Safety and Compliance: - Ensure adherence to IMO, SOLAS, and local Marine Department regulations. - Respond promptly to any marine incidents, emergencies, or near misses, and initiate appropriate action. 3. Communication and Coordination: - Act as the primary liaison between port users, pilots, tugboats, terminal operators, and other maritime stakeholders. - Maintain accurate communication logs and operational records. 4. Staff Supervision and Training: - Lead, mentor, and schedule VTMS Operators on shift. - Assist in training programs and competency assessments for VTMS personnel. 5. System Management and Reporting: - Ensure all VTMS equipment is functioning optimally; report faults and follow up on maintenance. - Prepare and submit daily and incident reports to management. 6. Continuous Improvement: - Recommend enhancements to VTMS procedures and technologies. - Participate in marine operations audits and risk assessments. Requirements: - Physically and medically fit, normal color vision and good eyesight.​ Possess a minimum qualification SPM/SKM with 3 years working experience in relevant field or Diploma in related field or equivalent. Possess good computer skills Microsoft Office. Able to communicate and coordinate with all level of supporting people. Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written & spoken). Good leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Able to work in a shift system including Public Holiday.
Responsibilities
