About us Waiheke Bus Company forms part of Fullers360 and operates a public transport network on behalf of Auckland Transport. There are four main routes, running from Matiatia ferry terminal to Oneroa, Blackpool, Surfdale, Palm Beach, Ostend, Rocky Bay, Onetangi and Kennedy Point. We operate school bus services to the main schools on the island. We also operate several charters, transfers and tours, including Explorer Hop-on Hop-off network. About the role As the Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bus services on Waiheke Island. This is a full-time permanent role working onsite at our depot in Waiheke on a rotating roster Monday to Sunday; the ability to work flexible days and hours is essential. In this role you will lead and support a team of drivers; ensuring that they provide safe, reliable, and efficient transport services to our customers. You will also be responsible for managing the driver schedules, monitoring vehicle service scheduling, and handling customer enquiries and concerns. Alongside this, some of your key duties and responsibilities will include: Participate in a weekly on-call rotation with the Duty Phone Act as the first point of contact for escalation of incidents Escalate serious incidents to the Operations Coordinator and/or Land Transport Manager as required Ensuring prestart bus allocation is completed and checking logs from previous night Reporting all bus breakdowns/defects and accidents - following correct procedures and completing all necessary documentation efficiently Checking the tour patronage to ensure correct allocation of vehicle and driver requirements Work closely with the Operations team to plan, implement and document staff training, monitor records and reporting of staff training and appropriate qualifications Support and participate in role-specific inductions for new Bus Drivers, overseeing their training and sign-off process. This includes completing all required documentation, keeping training records up to date, and providing regular progress updates to the Land Transport Manager Ensure team members are inducted and have Health and Safety training to carry out their work safely Provide performance feedback to your team - coach, lead and inspire them to thrive in their role About you You must live on Waiheke Island, or willing to relocate to live on Waiheke Island Participate in the on-call rotation with the Duty Phone (hence the requirement live on Waiheke Island) Previous Supervisory or Management experience; with experience in Health and Safety, Quality assurance and compliance Flexibility to work a rotating roster with early starts or late finishes outside of ‘normal’ business hours Top notch communication skills with exceptional customer service and sales ability Competent and confident on the computer with Intermediate skills across the Microsoft Suite and able to pick up new packages with ease Ideally hold a class 2 or class 4 driver’s license and P endorsement About our benefits Aside from working amongst a great team, we have other awesome benefits; some of which include: Free ferry travel for work and leisure for our full time permanent employees Free travel on Waiheke Bus Company Buses Annual flu vaccination and EAP (employee assistance program) Free basic skin check at Molemap (valued at $200) To find out more about this fantastic leadership opportunity on Waiheke Island, submit your CV and cover letter and we will be in touch. *Candidates must have the right to work in NZ to be considered for this role.
