Job Summary Responsible to assist a client’s employees to understand the content and appreciate the value of their employer’s comprehensive package of benefits by; Developing education materials in various mediums; Educating employees on their benefit programs; and supporting the enrollment process for those benefits selected. Provides initial and ongoing support to employers and employees regarding all facets of supplemental benefits. Provides internal support to account management team as needed; interfaces with clients and carriers, maintains records, and performs other general administrative duties.
A Day in The Life:
- Works with client team and producer to understand relationship and goals, completes client-specific training
- Achieves a working knowledge of the employer’s benefit plan coverage and services offered which may include medical, prescription, wellness, dental, vision, disability, life, accident, critical illness and other supplemental lines of coverage.
- Develops and reviews member education materials in various forms of media including member mailings, enrollment forms, PowerPoint presentations, video recordings (BrainShark) and any applicable decision support tools relating to supplemental benefits
- Completes implementation paperwork and build case specifics in enrollment platforms, seek approval from carriers’ underwriting departments and Oswald HRIS team
- Conducts a personalized, one-on-one counseling meeting, in-person or virtual, with each assigned employee as applicable based on group size/need. Provides support to employers and employees as it relates to all facets of supplemental benefits using various modes of communication. Actively engages and educates the employee on the specifics of each benefit offered and all options available; assists the employee in the evaluation and comparison of plan levels offered and enrolls the employee in the selected plans.
- Communicates the features, options and rates for each benefit; utilizes an electronic enrollment system or paper applications to record the employee’s choice of plan and level of coverage accurately; provides each employee with confirmation of their enrollment and deductions.
- Displays a genuine concern for the employee’s wellbeing; demonstrates a caring attitude with a passion to help the individual answer their benefit questions and resolve their concerns.
- Monitors the progress of meeting action items, initiates response from vendors or internal staff, secure all enrollment documents; also builds files in the internal, shared computer systems and catalogues documents appropriately.
- Performs data entry of current and historical enrollment, account, and commission information in the system of record on a timely basis.
- Serves as an ongoing client contact and identifies and assesses customer’s needs quickly and accurately; solves problems systematically, using sound business judgment.
- Supports client retention and confers with the team on opportunities to up-sell and/or cross-sell additional Oswald products and services.
- Tracks existing worksite benefit programs in designated market accounts and work with client teams to identify new opportunities and room for improvement.
- Strives to understand the details of Healthcare Reform, HIPAA, COBRA and other legislation, which affects the business unit.
- Attains further education, coursework and skills development opportunities to obtain professional designations in their field of expertise.
- Must have dependable vehicle to travel to client locations as needed.
