Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH / Marine Electrical Systems inside Wärtsilä is one of the world’s leading electrical system integrators in shipbuilding and specializes in special ships, naval vessels and large yachts in Germany.
We are now looking for a

AS SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER YOUR WORK WILL FOCUS ON THESE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development and execution of supplier development measures for specific scope of supply
• Monitoring of supplier performance, gathering and analyzing supplier performance data
• Execution of supplier audits and follow-up according to supplier audit plan
• Support of supplier in their operational efficiency, organisational growth, product improvement and product development
• Assess and follow-up supplier’s quality management systems and supplier management system (VMS) rating
• First point of contact for suppliers with escalated quality, delivery or technical problem
• Implementation of quality requirements (e.g. internal requirements, AQAP, ISO, etc.) at suppliers
• Participating in tool and process development for supplier development

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

• Technical or commercial studies
• Long-term relevant experience with focus on supplier development and quality
• Technical background in electrical and/or automation is a benefit, but not a deman
• Strong personal drive, used to taking own initiatives and being pro-active
• Self-running and target oriented
• A systematic and active approach to work
• Good skills in communication and team work
• Good skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP
• Contract knowledge with some legal background is beneficial
• Certification and Supplier Requirements (ISO 9001, EN 9100, AQAP)
• Fluent written and spoken German and English skills
  In this role, some travel will be required due to different locations in Germany and Suppliers in Europa (max 20%) - even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
