OVERVIEW:

Our client, a leading player in the aerospace manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Supplier Manager for an 8–12 month contract based in Calgary. This role is ideal for a seasoned independent contractor with a deep understanding of aerospace supply chain dynamics, supplier performance management, and compliance with industry regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supplier management within the aerospace manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of managing complex supply chains and high-value suppliers under tight timelines
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems and regulatory compliance (e.g., AS9100, ITAR, EAR)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Fluent in English; French proficiency is a strong asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or a related field preferred
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of critical aerospace suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are consistently met
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, implement corrective actions, and lead improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships aligned with program objectives and operational goals
  • Support sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and supplier onboarding in collaboration with procurement and engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other relevant aerospace standards
  • Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve escalated issues related to delivery, quality, and capacity
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits, assessments, and risk evaluations as needed
