We’re looking to expand our team across the board.
York Space Systems is seeking an experienced and proactive Supplier Program Manager to manage key supplier relationships, contracts and performance. This role will manage a few major suppliers, ensuring the successful negotiation, execution, and delivery of aerospace components, sub-systems and parts. The Manager will drive the strategy, development, and improvement of supplier management processes, while coordinating with various internal teams, including engineering, program management, finance, and legal, to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement solutions.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • 10+ years of procurement or sourcing experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier or program management.
  • 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry or a related technical field preferred.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Expertise in using ERP systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with cost analysis, procurement strategies, and supplier performance management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP) is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Program Strategy:

Develop and implement strategies for supplier management and procurement, focusing on cost, quality, schedule performance, and risk mitigation. Collaborate with senior leadership to align supplier strategies with overall business goals.

  • Supplier Management & Negotiation:

Guide negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company. Manage high-level supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination:

Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, IT, and program management, to resolve issues, communicate supplier performance, and ensure successful execution of procurement programs.

  • Process Optimization & Improvement:

Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, leveraging technology, industry trends, and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions.

  • Risk & Performance Management:

Monitor and manage supplier performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to meet contract requirements. Ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual obligations (e.g., FAR/DFAR).

  • Supplier Development & Relationship Building:

Foster strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships, cost savings, and performance improvements.

  • Data & Reporting:

Provide regular updates and reports on supplier performance, procurement activities, and program status to executive leadership. Utilize data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.

  • Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Oversee the maintenance of accurate records, including purchase orders, contracts, and transactional data.
