Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist Summary: Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) handles managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers. The role involves implementing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues. SQAs work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and engineering, to ensure that the components and materials sourced meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.                                                                                  * Develop and implement quality control plans and programs for supplier materials. * Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues. * Analyze supplier quality data and metrics to find trends and areas for improvement. * Work with supply cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. * Maintain and update supplier quality documentation and records. * Ensure suppliers adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements. * Work with and aid in coordination of supplier qualification and approval processes. * Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for defective materials. * Participate in supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. * Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters. * Monitor and report on supplier quality performance and key performance indicators. Qualifications: * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality assurance or a related role * Familiarity with quality management systems and standards  * Advanced understanding of quality assurance methodologies and practices * Proven experience conducting supplier audits and assessments * Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles * Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards * Knowledge of manufacturing processes and related quality standards * Ability in statistical analysis and quality control tools * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite  General Physical Requirements: generally sedentary work; seated at desk for extended periods while talking on telephone or performing work on computer; standing, bending, reaching above shoulder level, walking, occasional lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs.), frequent near vision for reading and computer work; repetitive use of hands, fingers, wrists for keyboard and other business machine usage; occasional stressful conditions; overnight travel sometimes required. Working Conditions: Approximately 75%-90% of work is performed in an enclosed office, cubicle, or open workstation under conditions that can be described as “normal office environment”, with controlled climate and minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; occasionally work may require presence in plant manufacturing area.  When in plant manufacturing area, there is possible exposure to: noise - loud, sharp, extended, impulse; up to, and occasionally exceeding, 85dBA (noise levels may require use of hearing protection), hazards - electric current; oils and lubricants; moving mechanical parts; chemical cleaners and solvents; combustible or flammable materials; sharp edges; airborne dust, metal, and fibrous shavings; intense light from welding; motorized forklift truck traffic; overhead crane operation; seasonal temperature variations (ex., high temperature and humidity during summer months), uneven or wet walking surfaces.      HME is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides equal employment and advancement opportunities to all employees and applicants.
