JOB SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that suppliers consistently meet the company’s quality standards for products and services. This includes evaluating and auditing suppliers, identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving corrective and preventive actions. The role plays a key part in new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Supplier Quality Coordinator works closely with the Receiving, Purchasing, and other cross-functional departments to ensure seamless quality management across the supply chain.
The Supplier Quality Coordinator manages supplier evaluations, performance monitoring, and quality compliance to ensure products and services meet required standards. This includes leading corrective and preventive action processes, addressing nonconforming materials, performing root cause analyses, and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. The role develops and maintains quality control plans, investigates customer and supplier concerns, and drives improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
In addition, the Coordinator conducts supplier audits, manages quality documentation and deviation requests, and ensures readiness for third-party audits. They lead PFMEA processes, perform quality risk assessments, and support continuous improvement initiatives at supplier sites. By fostering strong relationships with suppliers and collaborating closely with internal teams, the Supplier Quality Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining an efficient, compliant, and high-quality supply chain.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  1. A diploma in mechanical/industrial/quality engineering/technology preferred
  2. Certified ISO 9001 internal auditor with implementing and managing ISO 9001 experience
  3. Minimum 5 years of Quality Experience is required
  4. Experience in supplier quality is preferred
  5. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  6. Travel required: approx. 60%
  7. Driver license with clean record
  8. Valid passport to travel to the USA

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Qualification and Evaluation
  • Conduct on-site audits at supplier locations to assess quality systems, manufacturing processes, and compliance with company standards.
  • Evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, assessing their capabilities to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify that initial production runs meet all specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Quality Management and Improvement
  • Lead root cause analyses to identify underlying issues in supplier quality and develop effective, long-term solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and overall product quality.
  • Conduct quality system audits to ensure supplier compliance with relevant standards and requirements.
  • Establish, track, and report on key quality performance metrics.
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Clearly communicate quality requirements, nonconformances, and corrective actions to suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Suppliers, Purchasing, Project Management, Engineering, and other internal teams to achieve quality objectives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support new product launches by ensuring supplier readiness and compliance with quality standards.
  • Review and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to confirm that suppliers have appropriate documentation and processes in place.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier quality data, audit results, and related documentation.
  • Participate in other aspects of Quality Management Department as directed.
