Your role and responsibilities
The Large Motors and Generators Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio, including customized designs for various industries. Our motors and generators provide high efficiency and reliability in demanding environments.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments and drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. On a daily basis, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also demonstrate your expertise by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators.
The role is based in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, and requires on-site presence for 50% of the work time.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Driving approval process for supplier parts, materials, and components, as applicable. This involves collaboration with other functions and experts, and includes activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites. The role requires approximately 15 - 20 days of travel per year
  • Taking the lead in addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, or non-compliant products
  • Collaborating with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims when necessary
  • Ensuring that required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement across the supplier base

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Few years of experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools, SAP, and Microsoft applications
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and willingness to work in accordance with them
  • Innovative in developing processes within the company or at suppliers organizations
  • Experience in managing problem-solving projects within cross-departmental teams, including coordinating diverse stakeholders, and facilitating structured problem analysis
  • Verbal and written communicating skills in English
