Description
Engineering & GD&T: Partner with engineering to interpret and flow down complex requirements, including expert-level application of GD&T. Lead the definition of Key/Critical Characteristics (KCs/CCs) and ensure supplier inspection methods are capable and appropriate. Supplier Qualification & Process Validation: Lead the qualification of new suppliers, focusing on their ability to meet high volume demands. Drive suppliers to conduct rigorous process validation (e.g., PPAP, Cpk/Ppk analysis, FMEA) to ensure their processes are stable, capable, and ready for production. Auditing & Compliance: Lead comprehensive on-site and remote audits to qualify suppliers and ensure strict adherence to AS9100, company standards, and all regulatory requirements (ITAR, ATF). Source Inspection & FAI: Perform on-site Source Inspection and First Article Inspection (FAI) verification at supplier facilities for critical components, new product introductions, as required by supplier performance. Delegated Source Program: Develop, implement, and manage a Supplier Delegated Source Inspection program. This includes creating the validation criteria, auditing and qualifying suppliers for delegation, and managing the program to allow top-tier partners to ship directly to stock. Metrics & KPIs: Develop, maintain, and report on critical supplier quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Supplier OQD (On-Time Quality Delivery), PPM (Parts Per Million) defect rates, and RCCA cycle-time. Problem Solving: Lead suppliers through advanced root cause analysis (RCCA) for any escapes or high-impact quality concerns. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supplier quality management in a high-volume manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or defense). Expert-level understanding and practical application of GD&T. Demonstrated expertise inFirst Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102. Process Validation: Strong, applied experience in manufacturing process validation (e.g., PPAP, Process Capability/Cpk, FMEA). Program Management: Proven experience establishing and managing a supplier delegation program. ATF Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge and experience managing or auditing suppliers governed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), specifically concerning explosives, propellants, or ordnance. Compliance: Must be a U.S. Citizen in adherence to ITAR, DFARS, and federal compliance standards. Skills: Exceptional communication and project management skills. Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred) or a related technical field. QMS & Auditing: AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is required. Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Experience with suppliers of complex commodities (e.g., precision machining, composites, electronics, or energetic materials).
