This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 300000 - Rs 400000 (ie INR 3 - 4 LPA) Min Experience: 3 years Location: Ludhiana JobType: full-time We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with 3–5 years of experience to ensure the highest standards of supplier quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection), with a proven track record of working closely with suppliers to drive quality improvements, ensure compliance, and support new product development initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the PPAP process for new and existing components, ensuring all documentation and submissions meet customer and organizational requirements. Review and approve PPAP documents including control plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, dimensional reports, and material certifications. Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to verify product quality before shipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and customer expectations. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Perform supplier audits (process, system, and product) to ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor supplier performance metrics such as PPM, on-time delivery, and quality trends, and drive improvement plans where necessary. Support new product development by working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams. Ensure effective implementation of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, MSA, and APQP. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to promote a culture of quality and accountability. Participate in internal and external quality reviews and customer audits as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field. 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality roles. Strong hands-on experience with PPAP and PDI processes is mandatory. In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 is preferred. Familiarity with core quality tools: APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and control plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation tools. Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed. Preferred Attributes: Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Certification in quality (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage multiple suppliers/projects simultaneously.
