Description
Vertiv is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Pelzer, SC, to lead and oversee the quality of supplied material and ensure compliance with industry standards and production requirements. This role will be the main point of contact between the production sites and suppliers to resolve issues in timely manner to avoid production delays. Overview The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that all supplied components and materials meet quality standards and specifications required for production. This role serves as the primary liaison between the plant and suppliers, focusing on quality assurance and problem resolution. The SQE works closely with internal teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, and Corporate Supplier Quality to maintain supplier performance and drive corrective actions when necessary. Key Responsibilities Support determining the data driven top customer field issues list, verify an owner is assigned and status is reported weekly. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions through problem solving process. Evaluate completed corrective actions and ensure effectiveness of actions. Recommend appropriate remedial activities. Present reports to organization regarding Supplier Quality performance. Communicate internally and externally on outcomes of investigations. Work with Engineering, Services, Manufacturing/Operations, Management, and Corporate Supplier Quality to resolve quality issues impacting customers. Any additional items assigned by the Quality Manager Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. 3 to 4 years of experience within a Quality role. Proficient in Microsoft suites. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred) Certified Quality Engineer (preferred) Certified Quality Auditor (preferred) Education & Certifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement training is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Heavy Lifting (over 50 Ibs.)
