DESCRIPTION

Manage the daily operations and support initiatives that provide the assurance of continuous improvement toward defect-free processes that meet or exceed user and stakeholder expectations. Build strong relationships and manage the resolution of engineering quality issues with internal and external customers and suppliers, and reinforce quality focus in the supported organization. Serve as a key quality representative for supplier audits and manage post-implementation exercises to identify strengths and opportunities for improvements. Apply Six Sigma methodologies including 3P, 5 Why and Fault Tree Analysis in the process of identifying, selecting, tracking, progressing through, and assessing the success of quality projects and initiatives. Apply knowledge of quality standards including ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949, to develop procedures, processes, and external suppliers in a manner that aligns with regulatory requirements. Utilize knowledge of Manufacturing Process Validation and core Automotive tools including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA to validate that a manufacturing process can consistently meet technical and customer requirements. Use the 7-Step Product Problem Solving Process in order to solve complex engineering quality problems to create problem traceability, determine the assignable cause, implement robust, data-based solutions, identify systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Utilize complex tools including Design of Experiments and Quality Function Deployment to facilitate continuous supplier performance improvement activities to reduce defects. Lead the technical quality planning and ensure user satisfaction through structured and measurable processes including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), as defined by industry standard. Guide team in the practice and application of quality system standards required by industry specific regulatory authorities and user’s contractually specified requirements. Evaluate the supplier’s product design, supplier’s manufacturing process design and product validation process to ensure they meet reliability expectations. Lead the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using Lean Manufacturing principles, and engineering tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events as part of Projects Issue and Risk Management.
