Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist, reporting to the Quality Manager, working out of the Winnipeg office. The Supplier Quality Specialist will join a dynamic team of quality professionals dedicated to management and oversight of the supply chain.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience within engineering field and/or supplier/quality management
  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures)
  • Knowledge of data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g. design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fundamental knowledge of organizational structures, shop practices, manufacturing processes risk mitigation, capacity planning, past/present delivery performance
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE):

  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • Complete knowledge and ability to apply knowledge of production quality systems to interpret customer technical concerns
  • Ability to build relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promoting ideas with enthusiasm, conviction and assertiveness
Responsibilities
  • Reviews and validates supplier product non-conformances and disposition type, and engineering requirements. Processes supplier notifications of non-conformances.
  • Interprets routine requirements and resolves supplier issues and concerns. Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations to engineering.
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements, or government regulations.
  • Acts as a primary liaison with suppliers on Quality related issues.
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming parts. Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution. Reviews and validates the corrective action plan and identifies effectivity to ensure completion.
  • Monitors and analyzes supplier performance to determine needed actions on supplier performance. Investigates and resolves concerns to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier’s systems processes and products.
  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results. Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements.
  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.
  • Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
