Performs task in one or multiple areas of quality which may include validation, auditing, supplier and vendor quality, investigation, failure, and product complaints. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to developing and evaluating quality and system standards to ensure reliability and compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements, conducting internal production/process and manufacturing quality control audits and risk assessments, ensuring suppliers and vendors supply goods and services meet the agreed-upon requirements with minimum inspection or modification, investigating issues with product quality ranging from production errors, incomplete records and poor documentation, determining the cause of failure for systems, integrated circuits, components and sub-components, and developing and updating company complaint and inspection procedures to ensure capture and investigation of complaints. The Supplier Quality Technician II is responsible for performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs. Assignments are complex in nature where considerable judgement and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Role and Responsibilities Responsible for cosmetic and dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies both mechanical and electrical Ability to read and interpret blueprints and related documents Inspection of parts based on identified control features and sampling plans Possess a basic knowledge of and ability to properly use micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, threaded ring and plug gages and various other hand-held measuring devices Operate CMM equipment with pre-written programs. First Article inspections – Perform variable and attribute inspections on supplied product and document findings in Microsoft Office Word and/or Excel Complete inspections in a timely manner based on priority of part requirements, date of receipt and number of receipts Maintain inspection records on parts to allow traceability of part specific data on control features and inspection data Generate QN material reports and recommend corrective actions Perform engineering support functions (dimensional analysis, first articles, special investigations, inspection/test) Participate in the Supplier Certification program as requested Other duties may be assigned as required. Skills and Qualifications Requires quality control inspection experience and a thorough understanding of inspection techniques. Completion of associates degree or equivalent 2 year vocational training and 3 –4 years related experience is preferred. Requires reading, writing and intermediate arithmetic skills Requires the ability to use specialized equipment and maintain written records. Responsibilities
The Supplier Quality Technician II is responsible for performing product inspection and audits of quality control programs. This includes conducting inspections based on control features and sampling plans, as well as investigating product quality issues.
