    About the Role
    We are seeking a Supplier & Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Chile to lead strategic sourcing initiatives for Spare Parts. This role combines operational knowledge with supplier strategy, category management, and cost optimization across capital and operational procurement. You will act as the key liaison between our local operations and the Global Business Center, shaping a resilient supplier network and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
    Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Analysis

  • Lead quotation, cost optimization and sourcing strategies for critical spare parts and service packages, utilizing deep expertise in relevant categories such as heavy equipment, consumables, and services.
  • Perform supplier market and trend analysis to drive cost-efficiency and strategic insights.
  • Execute category management strategies and total cost of ownership evaluation and ensure continuity of supply and create long-term value.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with technical and quality teams.

Supplier & Risk Management

  • Support supplier qualification and onboarding processes.
  • Drive, identify and implement cost reductions and value optimization initiatives across sourcing activities and proactivity in leading continuous improvement activities
  • Lead negotiation processes in coordination with product line colleagues, ensuring competitive cost

structures and favorable terms.

  • Lead contract negotiations and commercial terms alignment.
  • Analyse make vs. buy options to align capacity, cost, strategic risks, production capabilities and total cost of ownership and quality goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with global procurement, engineering, and planning teams to integrate sourcing insights.
  • Partner with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to align performance goals.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, quality reviews, compliance metrics and contribute to continuous improvement in collaboration with operations and technical stakeholders.
  • Evaluate options between using internal manufacturing (workshops/factories) and external suppliers, balancing cost, capacity, and quality.

Reporting & Governance

  • Support global spend tracking and performance reporting for strategic decisions.
  • Share sourcing best practices and contribute to global procurement development.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, sustainability standards, and ethics compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management within the mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience in cost modeling and market evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of global mining supply markets, regulatory considerations and technical materials.
  • Experience in capital project sourcing or remote site procurement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Background in make vs. buy analysis and global vendor management.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and MS Excel.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
