Description

Key Responsibilities

- Determine, implement and monitor storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans

- Prepare and implement plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost

- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements

- Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels

- Operate recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, ensuring receipting and re-stocking occur at optimal times

- Liaise with other departments and customers regarding requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding/transportation arrangements

- Oversee the accurate recording of receipting, storage and distribution transactions

- Direct staff activities, set performance expectations and monitor team performance through tracking of KPI's.

- Ensure the timely provision of products and services to meet customer and client requirements

- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost, waste and lead times

- Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety, and regulatory requirements across warehousing and logistics operations

- Manage relationships with key suppliers, freight and logistics partners

- Report on stock levels and budget variances to senior management

About You

- Proven experience in a supply chain,, distribution or logistics management role

- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of managing supplier contracts and relationships

- Solid understanding of inventory management and stock control systems (ERP/WMS experience highly regarded)

- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience directing and developing a team

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a focus on cost control and efficiency

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable liaising across departments and with external customers

- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

- Relevant qualification in supply chain management, logistics, business or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
