Discover the Opportunity…We have an opportunity currently available to join the team at the Opal Botany B9 Paper Mill. We are seeking a proactive and hands-on individual to supervise warehouse, load planning, and logistics operations.
- You will contribute to the success of Opal by:Drive a safe work environment through active hazard reporting, incident management, SOP compliance, and forklift and load-restraint audits
- Create optimised load plans compliant with vehicle capacity, dimensional limits, and international export constraints while managing transport time slotting
- Direct daily staging, inbound/outbound freight, inventory organisation, and hands-on forklift/weighing tasks to maintain seamless product flow
- Implement storage and restocking strategies, conduct regular cycle counts, and manage stock levels to ensure product availability at minimal cost
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with team rostering, task allocation, staff performance, training, and operational cost control
- Work closely with customer service, transport, and export teams to resolve part-loads, prioritise urgent shipments, and meet customer requirements
- Develop, review, and refine warehouse standard operating procedures to improve throughput, quality, and operational safety
- Maintain accurate paper and digital records for all inbound/outbound loads, purchase transactions, and inventory movements
Discover Yourself…The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded individual who balances high-level planning, inventory control, and transport logistics with a willingness to be visible and hands-on on the warehouse floor.
- To be successful in this role, you will bring:Demonstrated track record managing warehouse, distribution, or end-to-end supply chain operations, ideally within manufacturing, packaging or paper industry
- Strong expertise in load planning, transport time slotting, inventory management systems, cycle counting, and international shipping/container constraints
- Practical experience executing SOPs, conducting safety observations, managing load restraint guidelines and using incident reporting systems
- Ability to balance strategic responsibilities, including cost management, supplier negotiations, and strategy development, with hands-on floor requirements, including a current High Risk Forklift Licence
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to resolve supply constraints with internal teams, manage external transport providers, and maintain clear lines of communication with Customer Service.
