MAKE AN IMPACT ACROSS REMOTE AUSTRALIA
We are a proud Australian-owned and family-operated company that distributes a diverse range of quality products, both internationally and locally branded and manufactured. At Desert Distributors, we’re committed to delivering essential items to the retail and foodservice sectors across regional and remote communities in Central Australia.
We are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Controller and Analyst who is systems savvy, a strong communicator, and a confident influencer to successfully manage our inventory and planning processes. As we continue to grow, this role will be central to helping drive smarter, more efficient operations across our supply and distribution networks.
As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will play a vital role in analysing and improving our supply chain operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the right goods are delivered to the right place at the right time — all while maintaining budget discipline and meeting high service standards. A key part of your role will be to ensure target KPIs, including DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On Time), are consistently met, while overseeing stock purchasing, importing, and shipping functions.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in leading stock control, inventory, and planning functions in environments with high SKU volumes. Experience working with both local and international suppliers with varying lead times is highly desirable. You will need strong analytical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and confidence using systems and data analysis tools.
Your primary responsibilities will include collecting and analysing supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and increase operational efficiency. You will be expected to conduct inventory reviews, prepare detailed reports, monitor stock levels, and investigate discrepancies. The role will also involve proposing and supporting revisions to workflows and job functions, identifying risks within the supply chain, and developing strategic contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. In addition, you’ll support the implementation of improvement initiatives across the supply chain team.
You will also be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that ensure optimal stock levels within budgets. Analysing and refining delivery runs and route planning will be critical to improving cost efficiency and service delivery. You’ll work to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers, and you’ll continuously assess and enhance supply chain processes, workflows, and performance metrics. The role involves regular reporting and collaborating across departments to ensure seamless procurement, transport, and delivery operations.
