Overview Position Summary This internship is within our NYK Group Americas (NGA) Inc. company. The position could develop into full-time opportunity upon graduation. Seeking candidates currently enrolled in and attending a university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, graduating in December 2026 or May 2027. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in NGA Roll On Roll Off (RORO) division in the Business Process Management (BPM) department to learn business functions and contribute to the success of the department and company. NGA RORO is a deep-sea ocean carrier whose vessels transport cars, trucks, and machinery across the globe. Below is a description of the department role. Business Process Management (BPM) Support NGA RORO business operations to resolve business process and IT issues. Review various NGA RORO business processes to identify improvements that can be implemented by business process changes or IT solutions. Skills: Proactive / Self Starter - motivated to learn and complete work assignments based on own self initiative. Positive Attitude - maintains a can-do attitude and inspires others when presented with challenges or obstacles. Communication - communicates and provides feedback in a concise, candid, honest, and timely manner. Problem Solver - capable of dissecting problems and providing specific solutions, or working with manager to do the same. Results Orientated - passionate about getting things done that contribute to the results of the company, rather than conceptualizing about what or how things should be done. Continuous Improvement - strives for continuous improvement while maintaining a realistic viewpoint. Accountable - team player who diligently follows tasks through to completion. Business Knowledge - understanding of RoRo shipping business, ocean carrier business, or logistics business is helpful, but not required. Proficient with (or able to quickly learn) Microsoft Office suite of modules including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Education and Experience Education: Currently enrolled in and attending a university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, graduating in December 2026 or May 2027. Schedule and Logistics: Duration of employment from May through August (flexible with start date and end date based on student’s college schedule); expectation is at least 10 weeks of employment. Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for 35 hours per week (does not include lunch break). Work style is a combination of in-office work and remote work from home office. Laptop and any required work materials to be provided for duration of employment. Office location is 300 Lighting Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094. The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking, stooping, filing, lifting or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, file, key and handle or feel small controls and objects. The employee must frequently talk and be able to hear.
