JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Analyst III is responsible for controlling inventories of raw materials and finished goods for forecasted sales and scheduled distribution. The Inventory Control Analyst III also oversees and updates the master schedule to reflect inventory turnover, stocking decisions, forecasting, and administrative controls. In addition, the Inventory Control Analyst III analyzes inventory levels, production speed, product demand, and shipment schedules to determine the reorder levels to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management software.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily.
  • Strong ability to work independently and at times discreetly, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, including following instructions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions-oriented, and win-win approaches.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 – 7 years’ experience with purchasing, inventory, or related functions.
  • Bachelor’s degrees in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related area.

Responsibilities
  • Update and maintain inventory system for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Monitor and update the master schedule, either directly or through the scheduling department.
  • Owns and reports out daily inventory adjustments and changes.
  • Sets up and implements audit and compliance procedures.
  • Recommend process changes or system enhancements based on findings.
  • Investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies, operational challenges, and inter-company transfer issues.
  • Responsible for transacting inventory, which may include, but is not limited to, scrap transactions, issuing material to production orders, inventory adjustments, cycle count variances, Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance, etc.
  • Inventory trend analysis will include forecasting inventory levels, reconciliation of inventory variances, assisting in determining appropriate inventory levels related to manufacturing volume changes, and any other tasks assigned by leadership.
  • Gatekeeper for the open purchase order report.
  • Reconcile inventory inaccuracies and establish countermeasures to mitigate future problems.
  • Establish kitting requirements for the selected material.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual summaries related to inventory accuracy.
  • Participation and support of lean activities to include GEMBA walks.
