Job Description
Role Summary
The Project Manager- Supply Chain & Logistics is a newly created position within the M+H supply chain and logistics organization. The focus of this role will be to participate in a cross functional project team that is tasked with delivering large scale cost savings projects. As part of that project team, the candidate will lead and develop his/her own project teams to drive cost savings initiatives to completion to deliver lasting cost reductions to the M+H North America business. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain & Logistics – North America with a dotted line to the cross functional project team leader.

Main Tasks

  • Participate in a full-time cross-functional project team comprised of members from different functional areas (supply chain, procurement, product management, R&D, engineering) dedicated to identifying and implementing large scale structural cost improvements for the M+H North American business
  • Uncover hidden value through the identification of cost savings opportunities with a focus on supply chain planning and logistics for a supply chain that has a heavy focus on automotive aftermarket distribution and a combination of domestic and international supply
  • Lead smaller project teams to implement execution of cost savings opportunities identified by the larger cross functional project team
  • Use M+H project management processes to maintain a consistent approach to the identification and execution of cost savings opportunities
  • Coach and develop smaller project team members who have not had prior exposure to project management processes
  • Regularly report on progress of cost savings initiatives to senior leadership members in M+H
  • Collaborate heavily with cross functional peers with a highly-matrixed global organization

Your Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in business, particularly supply chain, logistics, or project management or related fields
  • CAPM or PMP preferred but not required

Experience:

  • Strong project management skills, including the understanding and use of a project management platform or toolkit.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in supply chain and/or project management
  • Experience in industrial companies or manufacturing enterprises, preferably with a focus on automotive, aftermarket, or distribution

Skills:

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Able to use Microsoft office tools including Microsoft Project
  • Interdisciplinary management of teams
  • Conflict management skills
  • Advanced communication skills
