Supply Chain and Production Planning Manager - Job Description
Yumi Organics is looking for a Supply Chain and Production Planning Manager with experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods production planning, inventory management, forecast adjustments and purchasing select raw materials. We are looking for a very well organized and detail-oriented individual who can think a few steps ahead to ensure proper planning of our supply chain, and to be able to keep up with our sales forecasts! We hope to find an individual who is a problem solver, loves data and dashboards, experience with ERP, a critical thinker and is very analytical to, not only streamline our supply chain, but also be able to work well under pressure.
About Yumi:
Our vision is to become the brand name known for Overnight Oats and to build out this subcategory of cereal as the number one leading brand. We are currently sold in over 3500+ retail stores across Canada, including Walmart, Loblaws, Metro, Save on Foods and Sobeys. Our products are also sold on Amazon and our own E-commerce platforms. Our territories to focus on this year is the US and Australian Markets.
We are a Montreal-based Overnight Oats company founded by a certified nutritionist, whose goal is to make healthy eating easy, fun and delicious, starting with the most important meal of the day: breakfast! ;) We are the first in Canada to launch a line of Overnight Oats to retail, and we are very excited to be the first to launch a line of Probiotic Trail Mixes & Super Seeds in Canada as well! In 2024 we launched into the hot oatmeal space and caffeinated energy bars which increased our channel expansions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all our production schedules against forecast and needs;
  • Manage, operate and oversee our ERP;
  • Overseeing onboarding of new skus and items into production;
  • Daily and weekly management of inventory;
  • Ensure proper documentation of all production;
  • Ensure no shortages and back orders with weekly communication with sales forecast team;
  • Evaluate and adjust when needed all minimums on hand of finished goods and raw materials as we grow;
  • Work closely with logistics and order processing team to streamline production planning;
  • Oversee finished goods and raw materials inventory at our various warehouses and production sites;
  • Create and present weekly and monthly Inventory and Raw Material Reports;
  • Streamline lead times and budgeting on purchasing;
  • Assess production loss reports and budget management;
  • Foresee obstacles and potential problems to proactively prevent them;
  • Identify areas of improvement for streamlined production and procurement costing;
  • Build relationships and negotiate rates with suppliers;
  • Consistently develop back up supply chain partners for all raw materials;
  • Build and manage relationships with our manufacturing partners;
  • Work closely with accounting team on validating payables and orders;
  • Support R&D in all new raw materials procurement.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Must be experienced in the food industry;
  • Experience with ERP;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills;
  • Great memory;
  • Very organized and structured;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Proactive and punctual;
  • Ability to build and create systems and structures;
  • Excellent with Excel and inventory/production management softwares;
  • Ability to work multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve under pressure;
  • Ability to see and visualize workflows, production systems;
  • Ability to perform basic cost accounting assessments;
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite;
  • Fluent English speaker and communication skills, French speaking a plus;
  • Supply Chain/Production/Procurement background preferred;
  • 3 years experience;
  • Must reside in Montreal, or willing to relocate to work on-site.
