Description Purchasing: Source, evaluate, and procure raw materials, fabricated parts, and components used in heavy equipment manufacturing. Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms. Monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or delays. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to verify material specifications and ensure supplier compliance. Evaluate supplier performance and participate in cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Inventory Management: Aide in inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliation, and reporting. Collaborate with production planning to balance inventory investment with production requirements. Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and support corrective actions. Utilize ERP/MRP systems to ensure real-time inventory visibility and accurate recordkeeping. Supply Chain Coordination: Support logistics and scheduling to align inbound materials with production timelines. Communicate proactively with internal departments regarding material availability and constraints. Participate in developing and implementing supply chain process improvements. Assist in the implementation and optimization of ERP tools related to purchasing and inventory functions. Requirements Skills: 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience implementing supplier performance metrics or lean inventory practices. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Experience with logistics coordination is a plus.
