Responsibilities

The Consultant, Supply Chain Risk will be responsible for supply chain risk assessments related to sourcing requests when hardware or software are being acquired. The Consultant, Supply Chain Risk will routinely interact with Verizon and non-Verizon stakeholders to ensure that proper information is collected and assessed in a timely manner.
In addition, the Consultant, Supply Chain Risk will propose and operationalize risk mitigation strategies (working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders), as well as playing a key role in expanding Verizon’s Supply Chain Resilience Management (SCRM) program and working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with published procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative methods to collect information of importance in assessing risks to Verizon’s global supply chain.
  • Keep apprised of the changing supply chain risk environment and continually assess impacts to Verizon.
  • Contribute to databases that are used for assessing and visualizing risks and for record-keeping.
  • Drawing from industry best practices, develop and implement methods to assess and communicate supply chain risks.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to enable Verizon to achieve various levels of risk, based on desired risk tolerance levels.
  • Participate in further improvements of Verizon’s SCRM program and work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with published procedures.
