BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: As outlined in the WFP supply chain strategic roadmap for 2022 – 2025, the Supply Chain unit focuses on continuous innovation of WFP’s supply chain activities through adopting state-of-the-art strategies, business models, and technology, including those developed at a field level. The logistics unit in many of its sections is in the process of adaptation of innovative technological tools and industry best practices to optimize the use of resources, enhance analysis, and facilitate real-time, data-driven decision-making. The Track & Trace Project requires a coordinator that oversees all the efforts going on in the different units and supports collaboration needs with TEC units ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Business Process Analyst will report directly to the Head of the Commodity Tracking unit to support the Track & Trace Project and will serve as a key contributor to the unit’s ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance through business process re-engineering initiatives. This position will involve gathering, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting business requirements and operational needs to identify areas for process optimization and system improvement. The Business Process Analyst will take a structured approach to understanding existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and developing solutions that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Key responsibilities include facilitating cross-functional collaboration, supporting innovation efforts, and ensuring the smooth integration of new processes and tools into existing operations. Support to deliver data-driven solutions and innovations that contribute to the overall success of the Track & Trace Project. DETAILED KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Lead the gathering and analysis of data to develop business process maps aimed at improving end-to-end commodity tracking processes. 2. Formulate and test hypotheses to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions. 3. Review, validate, and assess innovation ideas submitted to the Track & Trace Project. 4. Provide analytics-based assessments to support decision-making on innovations. 5. Oversee system developments in the pipeline on behalf of the Track & Trace Project. 6. Liaise with TEC to track progress and report updates to relevant business units. 7. Support the mapping of as-is and to-be processes in consultation with relevant business units to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. 8. Act as the focal point for the Track & Trace Project, representing the business process mapping efforts (mid and last mile) and coordinating with business units. 9. Assist units in selecting appropriate solutions for business process improvements through market assessments and testing of potential solutions. 10. Standardize processes for innovations, solutions development, and industry market intelligence across the Track & Trace Project. 11. Ensure proper handover of innovations to TEC for implementation. 12. Coordinate the design and implementation of pilot projects to be tested in country offices, regional bureaus, and headquarters. 13. Work with business analysts, data scientists, and other team members to develop and implement data-driven solutions for improved decision-making. 14. Build staff capacity in business analytics, with a focus on DOTS reporting, in close coordination with TEC. 15. Serve as an innovation champion by researching the latest trends in supply chain management, operating models, and digital transformation. 16. Assess the feasibility of new trends and solutions within the context of WFP’s operations. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems required. A Master’s degree is advantageous. Experience: At least 7 years of relevant experience in project management, commodity tracking, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or business process management. Knowledge and Skills: • Strong business judgment and ability to deal with unstructured problems and drive optimal business outcomes. • Demonstrated ability to frame and build concepts and ideas and develop and execute strategic plans as required. • A business analytics coordinator should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders Good analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative: ability to perform advanced analysis in MS Excel and produce high-quality written materials, including MS PowerPoint presentations as well as text documents. • Proven capabilities of exemplary impact through cross-group collaboration and partnerships. • Experience in working within a global and culturally diverse organization; ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment. • Able to present and share ideas through an executive summary of overall status and propose proactive plans for resolution. • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex and/or technical information as well as lead/facilitate discussions across various levels of stakeholders. • Ability to develop new strategies and innovative projects. • Time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work on tight deadline. Languages: • Fluency in English and knowledge of another UN language (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic) is desirable.
