The creation of a single corporate service is essential for us to support our clinical and operational services, and our wider transformation programme. The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally. Job Description Band 2: £21,203 - pro rata Part time hours: 32.5 per week Permanent contract Base: St Marys Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5TG This is more than just a driving job - it’s a vital role in ensuring essential medical supplies, clinical specimens, and equipment reach the right place at the right time, helping frontline NHS teams deliver outstanding care. Drive a range of Trust vehicles for scheduled and ad hoc deliveries and collections. Transport clinical specimens, medical gases, and specialist items safely and securely. Maintain accurate records and comply with road traffic legislation and Trust policies. Be a visible and professional representative of the Trust, delivering excellent customer service. Support major incident response when required. We are looking for a valid UK driving licence with C1 entitlement (up to 7.5 tonnes), with experience in a service industry or logistics environment. You should have strong communication and organisational skills while being a team player with a can do attitude. Desirable extras: Experience in warehouse or retail environments. Training in manual handling and hazardous goods awareness. This role supports both Trusts, so occasional travel between sites is required. Travel arrangements will be discussed individually and supported by our staff mobility agreement. Please see attached Job description for additional information. Qualifications Good standard of education Clean valid driving license and driving experience. License must include full entitlement categories C1 (HGV 3 up to 7.5 tonnes) Experience Experience of working in a service industry Knowledge Numerate and literate. Ability to achieve high levels of accuracy ensuring deadlines are met. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skill. Able to liaise with staff at all levels. Able to prioritise and plan workload. Confidentiality and discretion. Able to work independently and recognise the importance of teamwork. Strong customer service skills Full understanding of ‘Commitment to Customers and Customer Care’ and be confident to demonstrate these good practices, during the course of their duties. Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and trustworthiness. A willingness to be flexible and part of a team.
