Role Overview
We are seeking a Supply Chain Executive to take ownership of purchasing operations, end-to-end logistics management, and inventory control for our Love Laura brand. Working within the supply chain framework set by the Supply Chain Manager, this role goes beyond transactional purchasing to encompass the full operational supply chain cycle- from demand forecasting and order placement through to inward freight coordination, customs clearance, warehouse intake, and ongoing stock management.
This is a broad operational role that requires both commercial purchasing acumen and strong logistics and inventory management capability. The Supply Chain Executive works closely with the Buying, Marketing, and Finance teams and reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing & Order Management
- Place and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers in line with demand plans, sales forecasts, and open-to-buy budgets
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities with existing and new suppliers within delegated authority levels
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product, supplier, and order data within internal purchasing and stock management systems
- Manage the critical path for all orders from placement to delivery, proactively identifying and resolving delays
- Resolve invoice queries, purchase order discrepancies, and supplier disputes in a timely and commercially sound manner
- Support promotional planning by securing stock availability and reviewing post-promotion sell-through and margin outcomes
- Track open-to-buy positions and flag risks or opportunities to the Supply Chain Manager and Buying team
2. Inward Freight & Logistics Management
- Own the end-to-end management of all inward freight movements across sea, air, and road modes, liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and couriers
- Select and book the most cost-effective and commercially appropriate freight solutions for each shipment, balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Track all shipments from origin to warehouse intake, proactively resolving delays, vessel changes, or port disruptions and communicating updates to stakeholders
- Manage all import administration including customs entries, duty and tariff calculations, documentation accuracy, and full compliance with import regulations and HMRC requirements
- Monitor and record landed costs per shipment, including freight, duties, and handling, ensuring accurate cost allocation per product
- Manage carrier and freight forwarder performance, tracking KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per unit, and claims handling; escalate persistent underperformance to the Supply Chain Manager
- Identify and recommend logistics process improvements and cost-saving opportunities, including consolidation, routing changes, and incoterm reviews
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations, customs requirements, and changes to duty rates affecting the Love Laura supply base
