SUMMARY The Supply Chain Analyst Intern supports the Materials team in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment by assisting with the procurement, planning, and management of direct materials. This role focuses on ensuring continuity of supply to support production schedules, program launches, and customer delivery requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supplier performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support procurement activities for direct materials used in the production of remanufactured transmissions, ensuring alignment with customer demand and production schedules Interface with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs) Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness) Analyze material attrition, usage trends, and demand variability to proactively mitigate supply risks and production disruptions Review and approve purchase orders and documentation to ensure compliance with parts requirements Support issue resolution for nonconforming or defective materials in coordination with Quality and suppliers Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in alignment with procurement and accounting processes Track and manage cost changes, including raw material fluctuations, supplier price updates, coordinate approvals as required Maintain and support PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and item master data to ensure accurate planning parameters (lead time, safety stock, order policies) Monitor supplier forecasts and ensure supplier understanding and commitment to meet production requirements Identify and track “at-risk” components or suppliers and escalate risks impacting production continuity Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory reduction, cost optimization, and supply chain efficiency Ensure compliance with company policies, IATF/ISO quality standards, and customer-specific requirements QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field Prior internship or coursework related to supply chain, manufacturing, or automotive operations preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read and understand English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
