Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement and ongoing performance management of subcontractors across the organisation. The postholder will ensure subcontractor agreements are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned to delivery expectations.

KEY DUTIES

  • Lead the sourcing, onboarding, and contract negotiation of subcontractors in alignment with project delivery requirements and company quality standards
  • Maintain robust coverage of core trades across all operating regions, ensuring effective service delivery while avoiding unnecessary duplication of supply
  • Oversee the performance management framework for subcontractors, including regular audits (both desk-based and on-site), formal review meetings, and performance improvement plans
  • Develop and manage supplier scorecards to monitor KPIs such as quality, H&S compliance, responsiveness, and value for money
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured feedback loops, collaborating with operational and compliance teams to ensure audit findings and supplier issues are actioned effectively
  • Implement a rigorous vetting and re-approval process to maintain high standards of capability, compliance, and documentation across the supply chain
  • Optimise supply chain efficiency by rationalising underperforming or underutilised subcontractors, and matching work packages to subcontractors based on skillset, capacity, and geographic reach
  • Lead regular supply chain reviews to assess performance, identify risks, and plan strategic interventions
  • Work closely with regional delivery teams to forecast subcontractor demand, balance workloads, and ensure capacity aligns with delivery pipeline
  • Contribute to supply chain strategy development and policy updates, ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial, operational, and compliance objectives
  • Support ESG and social value targets by encouraging local subcontractor engagement and responsible procurement practices
  • Maintain oversight of subcontractor insurance, accreditations, and other mandatory documentation, ensuring all records are current and compliant
  • Monitor and report on subcontractor-related spend and trends to support procurement planning and budgeting processes
  • Manage and administer sub contractor payments monthly and payment certificates working in conjunction with Finance team
  • Manage and report on defects and issues with supply chain regularly and manage any contractual disputes alongside operational teams
