About the role As the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for procuring materials used for both product manufacturing and general operations. We are looking for a proven performer who is process-oriented, a strong negotiator, meticulous, self-motivated, and has ample experience in procuring biologic materials. This individual will also assist with shipping, receiving, and logistics. What you'll do RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilities/Administration · Manage in-house facilities, security, and miscellaneous operations/office tasks. · Recommend the allocation of department office space and configuration · Purchase and organize equipment and office maintenance service contracts and visits · Interface with all facilities vendors – building management, security, etc · Perform administrative duties and participate in collaborative projects cross-departmentally · Collaborate with the leadership team to secure and build out new facility locations Supply Chain & Logistics · Cold chain logistics and storage · Develops new vendor or existing relationships and negotiates discounts · Negotiates price concessions with vendors for requisitions · Establishes terms, researches, and recommends new vendors; creates new vendor accounts as necessary · Help to develop and recommend forecast and delivery requirements to Suppliers · Order fulfillment by means of purchasing items for jobs/projects and/or allocating from stock · Obtain the best price and delivery on all orders · Confirm all orders, expedite those to meet client deadlines, and update the purchase order with all confirmation and expediting notes. · Verify inventory stock levels and recommend stock purchases when needed · Work cross-functionally with various departments to advance the company’s goals · Enter and verify all orders as required by sales, and ensure that all orders are tracked appropriately · Support the sales team with logistics quote generation, RFQ response, and project coordination activities · Assist with the coordination and monitoring of supply chain operations. · Implement and maintain inventory reorder levels for stock with the production planner. · Set up the appropriate logistics management system · Pick, pack, plan, ship, and track customer shipments in accordance with order requirements. · Process purchases via credit card, credit terms, and purchase order methods · Follow import/export guidelines and regulations for all international shipments. · Participate in periodic inventories; locate, pull, and package requested Supplies, equipment, and other materials to fill orders accurately. · Assist in collecting, storing, and preparing surplus supplies and equipment; properly receive and store shipments; perform warehouse maintenance, and follow safety policies and procedures. Procurement · Work with Manufacturing and Production Planning teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials required to meet production schedules. · Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers throughout delivery. · Develop collaborative supplier relationships to secure long-term, reliable, and timely sourcing of required materials. · Assist in the management of inventory levels. Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics Management · Create packing slips and shipping labels for customer shipments. · Arrange logistics for incoming and outgoing products. Qualifications EDUCATION: · A BS/BA in Business or a Supply Chain-related degree is a plus. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain productive working relationships · Strong knowledge of supply chain management · Proven success in negotiating · Strong attention to detail · Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines · Strong process mindset PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING: · Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; ensures solutions are consistent with the organization PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to hear and speak to employees and external associates on the phone and in person. Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision) Ability to walk and/or drive between buildings on campus, up to .3 miles for San Diego based positions [for manufacturing positions only] Ability to lift at 25 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet on a regular basis. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: May require travel to and from Nucleus Biologics offices or customer/vendor locations based on position.
