Description

Wavelynx is seeking a Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to be responsible for managing all Supply Chain functions. This individual will manage and execute all Sourcing, Purchasing, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Supplier Relationships, Vendor Management, Material Management, Inventory Control, inbound and outbound freight, customs and tariffs optimization, and logistics across a global supply base.
This position reports to our VP of Operations and is located at our corporate headquarters in Broomfield, CO with up to 10% travel required on an annual basis (more during new product introduction, less during steady state.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading multiple Supply Chain functions in a fast-growing electronics manufacturer.
  • Negotiating Skills: Formal training and demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts across multiple cultures and spend categories.
  • International experience: Demonstrated history of success in identifying, negotiating, and managing a supply base across the globe, with particular emphasis on Asia and emerging manufacturing geographies.
  • Maniacal Focus on Cost: Long history of significant cost reductions down to the component level and constant cost reduction analysis and initiatives, with measurable results. Fluency and experience in Should-cost analysis is key.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, especially including a global supply base.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy
  • Data-Driven: Comfortable working with data and analytics to drive decision-making and measure performance.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, a related degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, and Negotiation
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics design or manufacturing, with both in-house and offshore experience.
  • Hands-on ERP experience, NetSuite preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electronics design and manufacturing (PCBA, box build assembly, IC’s, etc)
  • Experience and understanding of various manufacturing technologies (SMT, automation equipment, stamping, injection molding, die cast, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of costing concepts, i.e., cost reduction strategies, should-cost methods, cost modeling, etc.
  • Experience with international freight, shipping, and import regulations, customs, duties & tariffs.
  • Experience in supplier evaluation/selection and strong contract negotiation skills
  • Experience building relationships with Engineering, Product Management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
Responsibilities
  • Identify new potential suppliers that meet engineering, cost, volume, and quality goals, understanding the value chain and acceptable overhead and supplier profits.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
  • Create and execute the RFI/RFP/RFQ process
  • Manage and negotiate supply agreements across all spending categories within company decision-making criteria and in collaboration with the VP Ops, General Counsel, and other leadership as needed.
  • Direct allocation of materials, supplies, and products
  • Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
  • Ensure contracts are drafted, negotiated, and executed well with key supplier partners
  • Drive continual cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives through price negotiations, BoM substitutions, and other creative methods.
  • Understand technical drawings and specifications as well as manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production while maximizing inventory turns and preventing gap-outs or excessive lead times
