Read more about IOM's workplace culture at IOM workplace culture | International Organization for Migration [https://www.iom.int/iom-workplace-culture] This is an expedited recruitment process, open for applications from internal and internal-equivalent candidates [https://www.iom.int/resources/iom-candidate-tier-systems] only.  Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), the direct supervision of the Head of Resources Management, and in close collaboration with Mission Supply Chain Unit, the Regional Office for East, Horn and Southern of Africa in Nairobi and the Supply Chain Division at Headquarters (HQ), the Supply Chain Officer will be responsible and accountable for overseeing the supply chain activities of the African Development Bank (AfDB) multi-million-dollar project in Kismayo, Somalia to ensure smooth coordination between the Government of Somalia (GoS) and the contractor, in accordance with IOM policies and guidelines. The Supply Chain Officer will also oversee the accommodations and warehouses of the sub-offices in the Mission, and assume as Officer in Charge (OIC) in the absence of Supply Chain Head Unit.
Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Officer will oversee supply chain activities for a multi-million dollar African Development Bank project in Kismayo, Somalia, ensuring coordination between the Government of Somalia and the contractor according to IOM guidelines. This role also involves supervising accommodations and warehouses in sub-offices and acting as Officer in Charge when the Supply Chain Head Unit is absent.
