The Supply Planner will be responsible for the tactical procurement of materials, supplies, or equipment. He/she coordinates efforts with Sales, Operations, and Management to maintain the appropriate level of inventory to meet sales demands at the most favorable price. The Supply Planner is proactive in their approach to coordinating the activities related to procuring goods, will assist the department in reviewing order recommendations, and will confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. The ideal candidate will also thrive in providing unparalleled customer service to both internal and external customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, accounting, or a related field
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Analytical with demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
  • Demonstrated ability to add value and reduce costs
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets for assigned product lines
  • Prepares, reviews and issues purchase orders
  • Proactively communicates with Sales staff, Operations, and Finance departments
  • Liaises with Operations to report defective or unacceptable goods/equipment
  • Coordinate pricing updates
  • Follow up with Sales to confirm timely purchase of goods to meet customer demands
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels within warehouses for assigned product lines
  • Process annual return submissions and warehouse transfers for assigned product lines
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain best possible terms
  • Act as interface between vendors and other departments as required
  • Provide analysis on inventory levels, costs, and cost reduction activities
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships while maintaining a professional and consistent approach
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
