JOB DESCRIPTION

We are the makers of possible
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
We believe that the human element, across our global teams, is what allows us to continually evolve. Join us and discover an environment in which you’ll be supported to learn, grow and become your best self. Become a maker of possible with us.
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to join the Diagnostic Solutions Global Supply Chain Planning team at BD. In this high-impact role, you will lead critical initiatives focused on improving On Time in Full (OTIF) performance, minimizing supply and distribution backorders, and driving sustainable, data-driven improvements across the end-to-end supply chain.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking and executional excellence, with the ability to dive deep into root cause analysis while aligning cross-functional stakeholders on improvement strategies. You will collaborate closely with Planning, Distribution, Product Management, Marketing Operations, and Global teams to address process gaps, drive operational efficiency, and elevate customer experience.
The Project Manager may also be assigned additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support evolving business and departmental priorities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Operations, or related functions with a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Experience leading improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or distribution center environment.
  • Proven success managing complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with Power BI (or similar tools) to drive data visualization and performance tracking.
  • Strong ERP experience (SAP preferred) with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
  • Experience working with global teams and navigating international supply chain complexities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and align stakeholders toward a common goal.
  • Background in Life Sciences, Medical Device, or other highly regulated industries.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Relevant work experience will be considered in place of degree.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional travel (~15%)
At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry. For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements which will be indicated in the job posting.
For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In some locations, testing for COVID-19 may be available and/or required. Consistent with BD’s Workplace Accommodations Policy, requests for accommodation will be considered pursuant to applicable law.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute cross-functional supply chain initiatives aimed at improving OTIF and reducing backorders across global markets.
  • Analyze supply chain performance data to identify process inefficiencies and lead root cause analysis with actionable solutions.
  • Partner with Distribution, Fulfillment, and Planning teams to enhance order accuracy, reduce cycle times, and eliminate manual workarounds.
  • Define, track, and report on key supply chain KPIs and metrics that drive visibility and accountability.
  • Develop and present compelling dashboards and data stories using Power BI and Excel to guide strategic decisions.
  • Champion best practices and standardization for decision-making related to product rationalization, shelf-life strategy, and inventory management.
  • Lead targeted initiatives focused on reducing finished goods excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory through proactive planning, cross-functional collaboration and lifecycle management strategies.
  • Ensure project goals are delivered on time and within scope, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
  • Influence and align global teams on standardized best practices for inventory management, product lifecycle transitions, and rationalization.
  • Implement scalable, systems driven solutions to replace manual workarounds and increase process reliability and efficiency.
  • Drive global change management efforts by fostering alignment across business units and geographies.
  • Support other strategic projects and responsibilities as priorities evolve within the business.
