Description

Overview: iGPS is a large volume measurement and tracking system consisting of a constellation of IR transmitters and receiving sensors. The system can track multiple objects in large volumes of space and provide dynamic measurement of objects in both position and pose.
The position of Supply Chain Specialist involves developing, vetting, and maintaining good working relationships with suppliers and vendors (mechanical and electrical); receiving, organizing and overseeing inventory; receiving orders into ERP system and kitting parts and sub-assemblies for production; and, preparing shipments (carriers and paperwork) for international customers. The Supply Chain Specialist is a key member of the operations team and will also interface with finance. Duties also include, but are not limited to, the following:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness and propensity to learn
  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal). Other languages are an asset.
  • Previous experience working with an ERP system; experience with JobBoss2 is an asset
  • Previous experience with international shipping (imports/exports)
  • Knowledge of shipping dangerous goods is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with CARM is an asset
  • Previous experience working with electronic parts brokers is an asset
  • Previous experience working with PCB assemblers is an asset
  • Previous experience working with machine shops is an asset
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic partnerships

EXPERIENCE:

Responsibilities
  • Plan and purchase assigned parts at the best terms consistent with company policy, quality standards and schedules
  • Ensure availability of purchased material to meet manufacturing and custom project requirements
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery strategies with vendors
  • Domestic and international shipping using various carriers
  • Knowledge of shipping dangerous goods (specifically Li+ batteries)
  • Creation of export and import documentation for various countries
  • Creation of purchase orders to vendors, monitoring of delivery schedule; and, receiving and reconciliation against purchase orders
  • Manage shortage list for production
  • Control and maintain raw, work-in-progress and finished good inventory
  • Prepare build kits for production
  • Ensure electronic inventory record matches with physical inventory by doing physical counts
  • Management of customer orders from initial intake through production through to shipment in an ERP system
