Strathcona Resources is actively seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to join our Supply Chain team at our Calgary office.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Supply Chain Capital, the Supply Chain Specialist will perform the day-to-day Supply Chain activities to support the Strathcona Capital program.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide procurement support for onboarding of independent contractors and management of the contract lifecycle.
- Monitor contractor compliance using vendor management tools (eg. Complyworks)
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and other competitive proposal processes.
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers/contractors by analyzing financial status, capacities, quality, technical capabilities, and costs.
- Creation and management of purchase orders, service orders, and change orders.
- Leverage buying power to negotiate contracts and achieve preferred pricing.
- Negotiate commercial items and legal terms and conditions within contracts.
- Perform routine expediting and contract administration for all procured materials, goods, and services, as required.
- Liaise with all disciplines on progress and schedule related to contracts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist in development and maintenance of procurement plan.
- Contribute to Weekly/Monthly reports.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align goals and maintain corporate consistency.
- Support various other Supply Chain related projects within the organization.
- Adhere to all Company policies and Procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, utilizing strong communication and organizational skills.
- The role may be offered as either a full-time employee or a contract position.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
- Self –motivated, detailed orientated, open-minded and results driven.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities, with a team-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to prioritize activities, manage competing priorities, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
- Completion or enrollment in SCMP program is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Upstream Operations.
- Experience dealing with Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) companies would be an asset.
- Proficient and adaptable in ERP systems such as Maximo, AFE Navigator, Aucerna Execute, Tableau, WellView, OpenInvoice, and ComplyWorks.
