POSITION OVERVIEW
Kiewit’s Contracts & Supply Chain Specialists oversees procurement and subcontractor / vendor management on construction projects across North America. You provide leadership and management for procurement of engineered equipment, subcontracts, professional services, commodities, permanent plant materials, and small tools and supplies. You will work with a procurement team to interface with engineering, estimating, design, and the site to create project-specific contract templates, negotiating with equipment vendors, material vendors, subcontractors and service providers. You will consult with corporate attorneys and senior management when necessary.
This role will support our Nuclear Construction team for projects across Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, construction management, engineering, or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in nuclear construction industry in a procurement role.
- Must have experience in vendor and subcontractor management, including evaluation, selection, performance management, and contract closeout.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) with general knowledge of database utilization. SAP experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of equipment and materials common in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
- Detail-oriented, flexible and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills for both managerial and client interfacing.
- Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
